No such thing as a free lunch?

There are farmers' markets, many of which have stalls with plates of food samples for you to taste. Work your way through the market and enjoy the free lunch.

I just came back from a farmers' market. Not a filling lunchtime but I certainly don't have an empty stomach. I can have the lunch I was going to prepare for dinner instead.

Some points to remember when enjoying a free lunch. Don't rush around stuffing your face. Show interest in the products. You may actually taste something you want to buy more of. If everyone just wolfed down the free offerings then you can be sure they won't be available next time.

City dwellers can also go to galleries and other such places offering nibbles on special openings. I even heard of a person who had taken dressing down day at the office too far and was offered a free meal at a soup kitchen for down and outs.

Costco! My kids will nibble their way through all those samples and voila! Lunch!

Okay, it's not enough to call lunch, but they enjoy the sampling.

my grandma does that. and at the grocery store too. but she is embarassing. spending half hour in the produce section, tasting grapes and whatever other little things she can get her hands on. yeah, i don't go to the grocery with her anymore. dont want to get arrested as an accessory, lol.

Yes, you can only take freebies so far.
